Back from the Road

Just got back from San Pablo, Laguna.

I just managed to update some of my blogs but I'm already tired. It's been a long day and I really need to get some sleep. Will catch up with the rest of my blogs tomorrow.

For now, I'm headed off to bed. Good night, folks!

Earthquake!

Small one just now at approximately 11:07 AM...and another one followed at 11:10 AM (a much stronger one)!

It probably just felt stronger because the swaying one feels when you're at ground level gets amplified when you're on top of a building, where I am right now.

TV Shows

I am currently hooked on watching TV shows.

For someone who hasn't watched television for so many years, it's safe to assume that I have missed a lot of great TV Shows. Not that I have anything against TV mind you. It's just that between all the stuff that I do on a daily basis I just didn't have a lot of time to spend watching the boob tube.

Recently though, I bought DVDs of two shows that looked like they were interesting.

I figure I can have them running at the corner of my monitor while I was working and watch them there.

Anyway the two shows that I got are both reality-based programs.

One is Fight Quest and the other is Beauty and the Geek and they are both quite entertaining.

Marketing Terms

This is an explanation of marketing terms taken from Boo Chanco's column.
Several women I know have asked me for an explanation of Marketing. Perhaps the following analogies will help clear it up:

1. You see a handsome guy at a party.
You go up to him and say, "I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Direct Marketing.

2. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy.
One of your friends goes up to him and, pointing at you, says "she's fantastic in bed."
That's Advertising.

3. You see a handsome guy at a party.
You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Telemarketing.

4. You’re at a party and see a handsome guy.
You get up and straighten your dress. You walk up to him and pour him a drink. You say, "may I?" and reach up to straighten his tie brushing your breast lightly against his arm, and then say, "by the way, I'm fantastic in bed."
That's Public Relations.

5. You’re at a party and see a handsome guy.
He walks up to you and says, "I hear you're fantastic in bed."
That's Brand Recognition.

6. You’re at a party and see a handsome guy.
You talk him into going home with your friend.
That's a Sales Rep.

7.Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you.
That's Tech Support.

8. You’re on your way to a party when you realize that there could be handsome men in all these houses you're passing.
So you climb onto the roof of one situated toward the center and shout at the top of your lungs, "I'm fantastic in bed!"
That's Spam.
How was your "marketing” lately?

Clubbing in Miami

During a business trip to Miami back in 2006 I got treated to a taste of the night life in Miami.

We went to this posh club beside this fantastic restaurant and it was full of beautiful people (well, most of the women anyway).

One thing I noticed was that most of the young (and I assume) eligible young men seems to be alone and nursing their drinks in one corner of the club wearing dour expressions.

The majority of the women were with older men.

I’m not talking about 40-50s kind of men. These old geezers looked like they were in their 60s at the very least. One thing going for them however is that they looked to be very successful and very rich.

And they had at least two women on their sides.

These women looked like they had everything fixed. The most prominent, of course, were their chests which look like had enough silicone to supply a dozen computer’s motherboard.

The geezers weren’t even dancing.

They were just sitting there, sipping their drinks, and watching their girls dancing in front of them.

One guy even had his girls do a girl on girl action right in front of everyone.

I guess in this town money really does talk.

But then again doesn’t it everywhere?

Landline

It’s been a while since I had a personal landline.

The last one I had was back when I was still living in Los Banos around 2003. Mobile phones weren’t that widely available back then and a landline was still the preferred means of communication.

When I was picking out a new internet connection package I noticed that some of them came bundled with a landline so I figured I might as well go for it.

One of the reasons why I’m so excited about it is because now I can order out. Wohoo!

I'm Back!

I think this is the longest time I haven’t gotten online ever since I learned the wonders of the World Wide Web.

My current connection ended and it took more than four weeks to set up a new account. I could’ve gotten a Globe or a Smart account but I was pretty happy with Eastern Telecom’s service so I decided to wait it out and I can definitely say that it was worth the wait.

Anyway, I’m back. What's been going on lately?
